What is the role of art and culture for justice?
Today, as we are awash with images through the scale of technology and live in an increasingly polarized climate in the United States—sociologists tell us that we come into close contact with those who do not share our political and religious views less and less—it is increasingly pictures: photographs, videos, films that show us worlds unlike our own.
Events
"Vision & Justice" was a two-day creative convening in April 2019 that considered the role of the underexplored nexus of art, race, and justice in American life.
Publications
The award-winning Vision & Justice Aperture publications feature photographs coupled with commentary from landmark scholars, writers, poets, playwrights and filmmakers.
